Halifax Musical Concerts Presents: Into the Woods (In Concert)

Halifax Musical Concerts presents INTO THE WOODS (In Concert) on Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Luke's United Church (5374 St Margaret’s Bay Road, Upper Tantallon) and Saturday, April, 2, 2022 at St. Matthew's United Church (1479 Barrington St, Halifax) both performances at 7:30pm.

Post legendary Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s recent death this past November 2021, this enchanting Tony award-winning musical will be presented in concert within the Halifax Regional Municipality.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, classic fairy tale characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and the Beanstalk), and the fabled Witch are brought together to meet a childless Baker and his Wife.

An extraordinary journey of humanism and emotion, Into The Woods is a musical in which obstacles are met, challenges overcome, and dreams are really magic!

Into The Woods (In Concert) features professional musical theatre talents:

Caroline Burton (Rapunzel); Margaret Champion (Jack's Mother); Katie Cochrane (Cinderella); Sara Courtney (Lucinda); Kyle Gillis (Baker); Becca Guilderson (Witch); David Light (Cinderella's Prince | Wolf); Anthony MacPherson (Rapunzel's Prince); Melissa MacKenzie (Baker's Wife); Brent Raddall (Jack in the Beanstalk); Emma Thornton Ockrant (Florinda); Christopher Wilson (Narrator Mysterious Man); and is accompanied by Ria Kim (piano).

Join internationally acclaimed Musical theatre practitioners, Katie Cochrane, Chuck Homewood, and Patrick Maubert for this unique masterclass to refine your audition prep skills. Whether you are auditioning for colleges, professional theatre or high school musicals, this intensive is for you!

In this intensive we will offer: masterclass-setting feedback from industry professionals, tricks and tips to nail your next audition and a step-by-step audition tutorial!

This will be a fun and nurturing space to polish your audition package and connect with other musical theatre artists.

Katie has joined the voice faculty at the Maritime Conseravtory of Performing Arts!

Katie is excited to announce that she has recently joined the faculty at the Maritime Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and is now accepting new students!

I have recently moved my voice studio on to the online platform Zoom, and it has been working out great! It allows you to take voice lessons anywhere and at any time! All you need is a device that allows video and your singing voice.

Katie Cochrane’s Graduate Recital

Woah woah woah!!!!! My two years at NYU are coming to an end, that went by quickly!

You can look forward to: more Sondheim than anyone ever asked for, a petite French set and a few cheeky golden age ditties! These genuine “bops” include works by: Sondheim, Styne, Chausson, Fauré, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Frankel and Korie and more!

My character study will be Amalia from She loves me! My stellar cast includes: Patrick Clark, Jordan Hope, Amanda Medley and Garrett Wilson! And of course, the incomparable Jonathan Mehl on the keys!
